  • Election speeches are back! Address the people and make promises that you can't possibly keep.
  • Cooperative and competitive multiplayer for up to four players.

Factions and Characters[]

Tropico 6 will see some beloved characters coming back, such as El Presidente's trusted subordinate, Penultimo, as well as political factions and foreign powers, along with their new representatives.

Expansions and DLC[]

The Llama of Wall Street is the first DLC, introducing new ways to manipulate markets and a new mission based around these features and a few other new buildings.

Spitter is the second DLC, featuring a social media-like system (it's namesake) and introduces celebrity tourists which can be courted for special benefits, alongside new tourism and entertainment buildings designed to cater to the wealthiest of tourists. It likewise adds a new mission showcasing these new elements.

Lobbyistico is the third DLC, introducing a corruption mechanic. Using the new "El Presidente Club", players can bribe faction leaders for powerful benefits at the risk of corruption negatively affecting revenue. Again, a new mission is added to showcase the mechanics and a few other related buildings.

Caribbean Skies is the 4th DLC and can be considered to be Tropico's first expansion, adding the first proper campaign of 5 missions connected by the same story. The key feature is the addition of drones as a product and resource, which can be used to supply various new buildings, such as drone deliveries which can transport goods through the air in the modern era, while Cargo Airports serve as a somewhat similar option in earlier times or can be set up for import/export purposes like a Dock.

Festival is the 5th DLC and has a similar scope as Caribbean Skies, with a 5 mission campaign. As the name implies, the key addition is the ability to hold festivals through a series of unique buildings, once they are supplied with Fireworks and Balloons, two new products introduced in the DLC. Any festival runs for a specific length, generating money based on the number of visitors, provide entertainment and slightly boost effectiveness of any building in their affected area, but every available type of Festival also grants other effects to specific buildings, so planning which one to run and where is key.

New Frontiers is the 6th (and currently latest) DLC and also features 5 mission campaigns as well as a new gameplay mechanic of creating a Mars Rocket and settling the red planet. To build the rocket, the player has to create a mega-structure (consisting of several buildings stacked into each other) and creating and configuring multiple rocket parts. He then can attempt launches to reach the moon or later the mars to obtain different gameplay bonuses.

Not all of the content added over the course of the game's lifecycle was tied to purchasing DLC, however. A number of major patches added other features to the base game, such as new multiplayer maps, Sandbox mode options and other general gameplay additions.

Modding[]

Tropico 6 has full modding support via an customized Unreal Editor. Like all Unreal Engine Mod Kits, it is available via the Epic Store under the name "Tropico 6 - Mod Kit". The download is free and you do not need to own the base game to create mods. More under Tropico 6 - Modding
