For buildings of the same name in other Tropico games, see Tenement.

Tenements are a type of housing building in Tropico 1. They are long buildings that hold a lot of families for a cheap upkeep, at the cost of low housing quality. Tenements are the third worst home after the bunkhouse and shack.

Work ModesEdit

  • Normal Maintenance: Maintains the building as best as possible.
  • Roach Patrol: Allows the building to fall into a state of disrepair, reducing the housing quality by 1/3rd and the yearly upkeep to $80.

TriviaEdit

  • An agreement with Russia can halve the cost of tenements, and full banks on urban development can lower the cost 60% more, making the final cost $800. This makes the tenement $200 less than a house, and can hold 11 more families.
