Special Actions are actions that a Presidente can issue on a citizen. All of the actions (except one of them) increase the citizen Unrest and upset bystanders and family members.

Special Actions can be issued on Rebels, but not on Tourists or children.

Actions Edit

Kill Edit

  • Requirements: An On-Duty Soldier
  • Cost: $1,000- $2,000
  • Indication: A cross-hair symbol.
  • Effect: Sentences the citizen to death. The on-duty soldier will run to the targeted citizen, and when in range, open fire on them. This is the best way to deal with (individual) rebels. Executing citizens in scarce or empty areas negates any Unrest caused by the death.

Arrest Edit

  • Requirements: A Supermax Prison or a Dungeon
  • Cost: $500-$1,000
  • Indication: A pair of yellow hand-cuffs
  • Effect: Makes the citizen go in jail. An on-duty Police Officer will run up to the citizen and chase him to an open cell. This is mainly good for getting rid of Crime Lords or educated rebels.

Bribe Edit

  • Requirements: A Positive Treasury
  • Cost: $500-$10,000
  • Indication: N/A
  • Effect: The citizen will be given an amount of money. This raises their respect and their family's respect. If the target is a Faction Leader, this also increases the standing of that faction.

Banish Edit

  • Requirements: None
  • Indication: N/A
  • Cost: $500-$1,000
  • Effect: Kicks the citizen and his/her family off the island. When they are banished, they could leave the presidente some of their wealth, which increases the money in his Swiss Bank Account. This is good for dealing with an unhappy family or a family of rebels.

Discredit Edit

  • Requirements: None
  • Cost: $5,000
  • Indication: N/A (normal game play); A black Exclamation Point (Mad World/ Inquisition)
  • Effect: Kicks the target out of all factions. This means that they do not have a say in the faction or factions when Elections are being held. If the target is a faction leader, some members of that faction will drop out of the faction as well. In normal game play, this is good for getting rid of Faction Leaders who are Political rivals. In certain missions (Mad World and Inquisition) discrediting certain people is vital to the mission.

Espionage Edit

This article section is about Tropico 5: Espionage.

Kill Edit

Obvious

Arrest Edit

Sends the spy to Prison or the Dungeon. The spy will stay on the island after his Prison term is over.

Bribe Edit

Bribes the spy into sabotaging an Espionage operation. They will leave the island in peace, but not take their family with them. Does not cause Unrest.

Banish Edit

Sends the spy off the island, but the spy will take his family with them. They still can leave some wealth for the Presidente.

Discredit Edit

Has no effect on Foreign Spies.
