For buildings of the same name in other Tropico games, see Rum Distillery.
A Rum Distillery is an industrial buildings in Tropico 3 and Tropico 4. Workers produce rum from fermented sugar and yeast. Rum distilleries are expensive to build, but selling rum (especially if it is spiced) can be very profitable and help improve relations with the USSR.
Enacting Prohibition will shut down all rum distilleries on Tropico.
