A Plantation is a raw resources building in Tropico 5. There are 8 different types of plantations: Bananas, Cocoa, Coffee, Corn, Cotton, Pineapples, Sugar, and Tobacco.

Bananas[]
- Like the British potato, the Tropican banana is not native to the island but is considered to be a national symbol and, of course, it is bigger than the national symbols of other countries. Tropicans are proud to call themselves "residents of a banana republic".

- We will not discuss cotton picking. Instead we will talk about the most interesting facts about cotton: Did you know that cotton has been cultivated for over 5000 years? Cotton seeds are strong enough to survive travel across the ocean. That cotton wool can absorb water more than 27 times its own weight?
