Horticulture stations are buildings in Tropico 4. These research stations allow for the advanced study - and, occasionally, modification - of plant life, helping to boost agricultural and forestry industries. Regardless of work mode, the employees of this building will plant trees in a radius around it. However, these trees do not seem to be valid for logging.
Work Modes[]
- Reforestation: Focuses research on helping Tropico's rainforests to grow, allowing trees to grow faster.
- Organic Agriculture: Develops new ways of growing crops without the use of chemicals, increasing the export price of all fruits from the island by a percentage that depends on the skill of the professors, to a maximum of 50%.
- GMC: Genetically modifies the corn crops on the island, allowing them to yield more food depending on the skill of the professors to a maximum of 100%. This work mode requires the Academy of Science to be built.
