For buildings of the same name in other Tropico games, see Furniture Factory.
Furniture factories are industrial buildings in Tropico 3 and Tropico 4. Workers here take planks of Lumber and fashion them into chairs, beds, and other forms of Furniture for export. The export of furniture is a very profitable business, but requires a lot of workers, most of them educated. In Tropico 4, lumber can be imported and only the building will be required, instead of the logging camp and the lumber mill.
- Machining Center: For $8,000 and 15 megawatts of power, a center for creating new drill bits, saws, and other tools can be built in the factory, increasing production by 20%.
- Exhaust Fans: For $5,000 and 5 megawatts of power, large fans can be installed to clear the stuffy, sawdust-filled air out of the factory, increasing production by 10% and the quality of jobs in the factory by 20% but increasing pollution by 50%.
- Sweat Shop: The default work mode. Employees here work backbreaking 14 hour long shifts.
- Easy-Does-It: Employees here are given an easier time. Their job quality increases by 10 but they work 25% less.
