Customs officer are high school-educated men who implement Tropico's customs policies in the Customs Office, examining and taxing anything brought to or taken from the island. The higher a custom officer's skill is, the more they can raise the price of exports, lower the price of imports, and fine visiting tourists.
Experience in being a customs officer or banker is required for men to become the Minister of the Economy. Women need experience in being either a shopkeeper or journalist.
