For buildings of the same name in other Tropico games, see Apartment.
Apartment blocks are buildings in Tropico 3 and Tropico 4. Apartments are more expensive and hold fewer families than tenements, but are much more middle class, allowing them to be built without lowering the value of the surrounding area or upsetting tourists.
Apartment blocks become obsolete in 1966, when they're replaced by modern apartment blocks.
- Climate Control: Installs air conditioning throughout the building for $1,000 and 2 megawatts of power. These cooling units are highly prized in the Caribbean heat, improving the building's housing quality by +15.
- Normal Maintenance: Maintains the building as best as possible.
- Roach Patrol: Allows the building to fall into a state of disrepair, reducing the housing quality by 30% and the monthly upkeep to $8.
