The Airport is a building in Tropico 3 and Tropico 4. It's essentially an advanced tourist dock, helping to attract more tourists with more money more often.
A functioning airport is required to perform trade missions.
With Special Development Aid from the US, the construction costs an Airport can be halved. Being an extremely expensive building, the use of that Edict for this Airport alone makes it worthwhile - resulting in $10000 in savings (factoring in the cost of the edict and the savings incurred).
The airport becomes obsolete in 1983, when it's replaced by the Aerodrome.
Upgrades[]
- Control Tower: For $8,000 and 10 megawatts of power, the airport can be made to handle more traffic, increasing the amount of tourists that arrive by 20%.
- Enhanced Terminal: For $5,000, the waiting area of the airport can be made much more luxurious, increasing the amount of wealthy tourists that arrive by 40%.

- First Class Service: The airport provides a more selective and luxurious service, increasing the upkeep to $60 a month and decreasing the number of tourists arriving by 30%, but ensuring that only wealthy tourists will arrive by plane.
